Community Volunteers

  • Someone for you to contact if you need support during your time of social distancing and social isolation
  • A telephone call to chat and see how your day has been or simply someone to walk past your house, wave and see that you are OK
  • Do you need a neighbourly favour, perhaps your dog needs a short walk, prescription collecting, you want them to check on a friend for you
  • Help you if you need advice on how to access some of the services below
Community volunteers that live near you (including Hook and Stonea) will have a badge with name and photo hanging on a PINK lanyard. They will visit over the next few days to every home and introduce themselves; and of course, if you don't need them please do let them know, but keep their details in case things change for you. In the meantime, if you would like support, please telephone or email the contact details above.

In addition to our volunteers, we all have access to the services below:

The Anchor Inn
Paul and his team will be providing a take away menu for food and beverages. All "take out" meals are £5. Volunteers can deliver for those who cannot go out. Call Paul on 741940 or visit The Anchor Facebook Page.

Daddy Cabs
Is offering a COVID-19 Delivery Service for £6 within Wimblington from 09:00-16:30. Daddy Cabs will deliver your click and collect Tesco order. They can also offer other services. For information call Simon on 699181.

Premier Shop
Our local shop will be taking shopping orders over the telephone, and the volunteer group will deliver the orders twice a day at 12:00 and 18:00. Call Bittu or Paul on 07496 796171.

Our villagers have a diverse knowledge and range of skills which they are willing to share. We are here to support each other. Please keep safe and visit for advice on COVID-19.
